In the 1950s a naval officer named Grace Hopper asked why people couldn't write instructions to a computer in English. She was told that computers don't understand English. She built the translator anyway, and every programming language since descends from that idea.
Her question got its full answer about seventy years late — in our lifetime, machines learned to read what we write. And the strange thing about arriving at the answer is how few people have been shown what to do with it. The internet filled up with clips of apps appearing out of sentences, and almost nothing about the difference between a wish and a plan.
We built Australis because software should work every time, and it should end with evidence rather than a promise. Then we watched people use it, and the pattern was unmistakable: the tool was rarely the problem. The gap between what someone meant and what they said was the problem — the same gap that has broken software projects since punched cards.
That gap can be taught. So we built a course that teaches it the way it should be taught: not a tour of our buttons, but the actual craft — what a machine is, why it takes you literally, how to hear a requirement inside a client's complaint, how to cut a first version that ships, how to say what "done" means before anything is built.
Anyone can build a course that tells you you're doing well. Here, an independent checker drives your app and reports what it found. If it failed, the page says so, and shows you what the machine saw. Encouragement that isn't earned is just a nicer way of wasting your month.
Buttons change. That a machine cannot guess your meaning does not. Two thirds of this course would still be true if every AI tool on earth were replaced tomorrow — which is exactly why it's worth your four weeks.
