Privacy Policy

This policy is provided by Australis Technologies Pty Ltd (ACN 700 968 930, ABN 86 700 968 930), registered in New South Wales, Australia — the entity responsible for any personal data Australis handles.

The short version

Australis runs on your computer and your project files stay on your disk. Two things are not local, and you should know both: building sends your request to our servers, and you sign in, so we hold an account for you.

Your account

Signing in is required to build. You can sign in with Google, with Microsoft, or with a code we email you; with Google or Microsoft we keep the account identifier they give us and the email address they confirm, never a password. We hold your email address, your sign-in sessions and the approximate location (city and country) our servers work out from your connection when you sign in, your plan, your credit balance and what you have spent it on, and — if you are on a paid plan — a billing record held with our payment processor. A business account also holds the business details you add for invoicing and who has a seat. You can ask us for a copy or ask us to delete it.

The beta waitlist and the Build Log

If you ask for beta access or subscribe to the Build Log, we keep your email address, which form you used, and when. So we can tell which posts and links bring people here, we also keep where you first came from: the page that linked to you (its address only, without anything after a "?"), any campaign tags in the link you followed (such as utm_source), the first page you landed on, the country our host works out from your connection, and your browser type. We do not keep your IP address. Your browser remembers that first visit for 30 days in its local storage — not a cookie — and only sends it to us when you sign up. Ask us and we will delete it along with the rest of your signup.

What leaves your machine

When you build, your request and the parts of the project needed to answer it are sent to our servers in Sydney and on to the model that answers it. Downloads and update checks reach our release server (standard logs: IP, version, OS). Publishing uploads that app, because you asked it to. A few features keep something on our side because they need to: pictures you make or edit in Make are sent to the image models, an Australis Cloud database lives on our managed backend, a receipt you share becomes a public page at australis.io/r/…, and the pages you build in an Academy lesson are kept so you can come back to them. Your project files otherwise stay where they are.

Telemetry

Off by default. If you opt in, we receive anonymized crash reports and feature counters — never your code, prompts, file names, or project paths. Opt out any time in Settings.

What we don't do

We don't sell data, we don't train models on your projects, and we don't read your code. Builds run on our own model accounts rather than yours; the providers we use, and what each one is used for, are listed in our DPA and subprocessors.

Your rights

Your projects are yours: the folder on your disk is the project, and removing it removes it there. For what we hold — your account, your usage, your waitlist signup, release-server logs, support email, shared receipts, Academy builds, a Cloud database — write to us and we will give you a copy or delete it from our servers. Under Australian privacy law you can also ask us to correct anything we hold about you.
